Paradise

Welcome to our summer holiday.  Three weeks of bliss, caravanning in a campsite beach-side at Hahei in the Coromandel.  An idyllic part of NZ’s coast. Paradise.  And here is Belladonna, our little snail shell.

Can a writer have a better position?  Peace and playground chatter, quiet solitude and birdsong, and a vast variety of peoples from all parts of the world to watch and eavesdrop on and observe.

I have coffee on tap, fresh produce to eat, and most of all, many hours to create and dream.

No housework or garden maintenance, no pressing work deadlines or challenges.
I’ve already finished four books, the last by Kate Mosse, Labyrinth, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
So get writing, no excuses.

Popped over to the local fair yesterday, ate a delicious french crepe, people watched, and met Russell Meek, who has self-published the first of four epic fantasy novels, The Madness of Hallen.  His initial story concept came to him in 1996/1997.  What a journey!  Inspiring, and I’m looking forward to reading his book.
What are your Christmas and New Year writing plans?
